  1. Open Outlook.

How to un-check leave messages on the server

 

Windows live mail

  1. Right-click the email account in the left pane and click Properties.
  2. Click the Advanced tab.
  3. Select the check box beside Leave a copy of message on server.
  4. Click OK.

 

Changing the Outlook settings 2003

1. In Microsoft Outlook, from the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts..

2. “E-mail Accounts” window will open Select the Next Tab.

3. Select the account to change.

Highlight the account you want to change, then click Change to open the settings window or double click on your Mail account.

4. The “Change E-mail Account” window opens.

The screen should look something like this:

5. Click the More Settings button, then choose the Advanced tab.

In the Advanced tab, uncheck the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox and click OK.

 

Changing the Outlook settings 2007

To uncheck leave messages on the server, you will:

1. Start the Microsoft Outlook program.

You can use the Start menu to start Outlook. When it opens, click Tools, then Accounts Settings from the menu bar:

Highlight the account you want to change, then click Change to open the settings window or double click on your Mail account.

 

3. The “Change E-mail Account” window opens.

The screen should look something like this:

4.Click the More Settings button, then choose the Advanced tab.

In the Advanced tab, uncheck the Leave a copy of messages on the server checkbox and click OK.

 

Changing the Outlook settings 2010

  1. Click File

 

 

2. Select Account Settings under Info

3. Select Account Settings again in the drop-down

 

4. Highlight an email account and click Change

 

5. Click More Settings

 

6. Click the Advanced tab
7. Leave the following two boxes unselected unless you want to remove them after a set amount of days or you want your deleted mail to be removed indefinitely


8. Click OK, Next and Finish to save your settings.

 

Changing the Outlook settings 2013

  1. Open Outlook.
  2. Click the File tab > Account settings.
  3. Highlight your current POP3 account and click Change.
  4. Note: The window that opens will tell you what type of email account you have. (Look under Type.)
  5. Choose More settings and click on Advanced.
  6. You should see a check box titled: Leave a copy of messages on the server.
  7. Un-check the box Leave a copy of the message on the server.

 

Entrouge for Mac

1. Click on the Tools menu, choose Accounts...”

 

2. Select the Mail tab.

3. Double click on your Mail account. Edit Accounts window will open.


4. Select the Options tab.

In the Server Options section at the bottom of the window, un-check the box next to Leave a copy of each message on the server

 

Mac Mail/Mac OS 10.1

  1. Click Mail.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Make sure that the correct address is highlighted, and then click Edit.
  4. Click the Account Options tab.
  5. Make sure that the Delete messages from server after downloading check box is not selected.

Note: Mac Mail does not have an option to remove email messages from the messaging server after a specified number of days.

 

Apple Mail on Mac OS X

  1. Click Mail.
  2. Click Preferences.
  3. Click the Accounts tab, and select the appropriate email account.
  4. Click the Advanced tab.
  5. Clear the Remove copy from the server after retrieving a message check box.
  6. Click OK.

Note: Mail does not have an option to remove email messages from the messaging server after a specified number of days.

Apple Mail for MAC OS – POP Account

Apple Mail for Mac OS X (POP3 & SMTP)

Open Apple Mail.
1.1. If no email accounts have been configured in Apple Mail, it will start directly with the set-up wizard.

1.2. If there are existing accounts in Apple Mail, you can select Mail -> Add Account… from the menu bar.

2. Select the Add Other Mail Account option and click Continue.

3. The Add a Mail Account screen will appear.


In the Full Name field enter the name you would like to appear on the messages you send.

In the Email Address field enter the email address you are configuring.

In the Password field enter the current password for this particular address.

Click the Create button.

 

4. After a short settings discovery procedure, Apple Mail will inform you that the account must be manually configured. Click Next.

 

5. The Incoming Mail Server Info screen will open.


Set Account Type to POP.

For Mail Server use mail.yourdomain.com.au.

In the User Name field enter complete email address.

In the Password field enter the current password for this particular address.

Click the Next button.

 

6. Fill out the Outgoing Mail Server Info details.


For SMTP Server use mail.yourdomain.com.au.

Enter your complete email address in the User Name field and the corresponding password in the Password field.

Click the Create button.

 

7. The account will be created, and any messages in your Inbox will be downloaded.

 

8. To proceed with the configuration, go to Mail -> Preferences… from the menu.

9. You should see the new mail account listed in the Accounts section. Select it and choose the Edit SMTP Server List… option from the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) drop-down menu.

10. Go to the Advanced tab.

Select the Use default ports option.

Make sure the Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) checkbox is Unchecked.

Choose Password from the Authentication drop-down menu. Make sure your username and password are entered.

Click the OK button.

11. Go to the Advanced tab for your email account on the main Accounts screen.


Make sure the port is set to 110 and the Use SSL checkbox is unchecked.

The Authentication option should be set to Password.

 

12. Close the Accounts screen. You may be prompted to save the changes. Click the Save button.

How to clear your browsers cache ?

Running out of disk space? Cant stop your browser from loading an out-of-date page or an image? Your browser taking longer to exit? Your favorite Java applet is misbehaving?

One of the answers to all of the above questions may be to clear your browsers cache. Almost all web browsers maintain a local copy of web pages and other related items on your disk or memory to speedup reloading of previously visited pages from the Internet. This time saver may get bigger and slower over long periods of time. If this is causing problems, try clearing your browser cache as follows.

TIP: Although its not required by all browsers, restarting your browser after clearing the cache is a good idea. If youre using Explorer 4.x or Explorer 5.x its better to restart the computer as well.

 

CLEARING CACHE IN NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR 3.X:

  1. Select Options | Network Preferences from the main menu
  2. Change to the Cache tab
  3. Click on Clear Memory Cache Now and Clear Disk Cache Now buttons

 

CLEARING CACHE IN NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR 6.X AND 7.X:

  1. Select Edit | Preferences from the main menu
  2. Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the triangle sign and
  3. Click Cache
  4. Click both the Clear Memory Cache and the Clear Disk Cache buttons

 

CLEARING CACHE IN NETSCAPE COMMUNICATOR 4.X:

  1. Select Edit | Preferences from the main menu
  2. Change to the Advanced | Cache section
  3. Click on Clear Memory Cache and Clear Disk Cache buttons

TIP: Navigator 3.x and Communicator 4.x users: If youre often having to reload frequently updated pages, you may want to take this chance to set Verify Documents option to Every Time. This will make the browser retrieve the latest copy of a web page even if its in the cache.

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 3.X:

  1. Select View | Options from the main menu
  2. Change to the Advanced tab
  3. Click on Settings button
  4. Click on Empty Folder

TIP: If youre running out of hard disk space, you could reduce percent of disk space used by Explorer 3.x for its cache by sliding the Amount of disk space to use gauge.

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 4.X:

  1. Select View | Internet Options from the main menu
  2. Change to the General tab
  3. Click on Delete Files button

TIP: If you have Explorer 4.x Active Channel subscriptions, check Delete all subscription content to delete cached channel content as well.

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 5.X:

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options from the main menu
  2. Change to the General tab
  3. Click on Delete Files button

TIP: If you have stored web pages for offline viewing, check Delete all offline content

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 6.X:

  1. Select Tools | Internet Options from the main menu
  2. Change to the General tab
  3. Click on Delete Files button

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 7.X:

  1. Once your browser is open, click the Tools menu. Or, optionally you may simply press Ctrl-Shift-Delete to open the Delete Browsing History window (and skip step 2)
  2. Delete Browsing History Click on Delete Browsing History
  3. Select Temporary Internet Files
  4. Click the Delete button near the bottom of the window to delete your temporary files (i.e. clear your cache).
  5. If you want the browser to automatically clear the cache whenever you close it, click the Advanced tab.
  6. Click to check the box next to the Empty Temporary Internet Files folder when browser is closed option (in the section labeled Security).
  7. Click OK. This will delete everything except cookies.

CLEARING CACHE IN MICROSOFT INTERNET EXPLORER 8.X:

  1. Close all browsers.
  2. Open Internet Explorer.
  3. Click Tools on the menu bar and select Internet Options.
  4. Click Delete under Browsing History.
  5. Uncheck every box except for Temporary Internet Files in the Delete Browsing History window.
  6. Click Delete.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close and reopen the browser.

CLEARING CACHE IN MOZILLA FIREFOX 1.X:

  1. Select Tools from the main menu
  2. Click on Options
  3. Change to the Privacy tab
  4. Select Cache and click Clear

CLEARING CACHE IN MOZILLA FIREFOX 3.0:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click Tools on the menu bar and select Options.
  3. Click Privacy.
  4. Click Clear Now (NOTE: Make sure, only Cache is checked).
  5. Click Clear Private Data Now.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close and reopen the browser.

CLEARING CACHE IN MOZILLA FIREFOX 3.5:

  1. Open Firefox.
  2. Click Tools on the menu bar and select Clear Recent History
  3. Select Everything from the Time range to clear drop down list
  4. Click the down arrow next to Details
  5. Click to check the box Cache (NOTE: Make sure, only Cache is checked)
  6. Click Clear Now
  7. Click OK
  8. Close and reopen the browser

CLEARING CACHE IN GOOGLE CHROME:

  1. Once your browser is open, select the tools menu. (the spanner in the upper-right corner) and select Options.
  2. Select Clear Browsing data under the Under the Hood tab
  3. Select the Empty the cache check-box.
  4. If you do not wish to delete cookies, etc., remove checks from them in the list.
  5. Select the period of time for which you wish to delete cached information using the Clear data from this period: drop-down menu. (If in doubt select Everything).
  6. Click the Clear Browsing Data button.

CLEARING CACHE FOR OPERA:

  1. Once your browser is open, select the tools menu and click delete private data.
  2. Click the details button.
  3. If you do not wish to delete cookies, saved passwords, etc., remove checks from them in the list.
  4. Press delete.

CLEARING CACHE IN OPERA 3.X:

  1. Select Preferences from the main menu
  2. Click on Cache
  3. Click on Empty Now button to clear the selected cache

TIP: If want to save your hard disk from filling up with cached files you will never use, check Empty on Exit this will flush your cache at the end of every session.

CLEARING CACHE IN SAFARI FOR MAC OS:

  1. Once your browser is open, click the Safari menu and select Empty Cache
  2. Click Empty

CLEARING CACHE IN SAFARI FOR WINDOWS OS:

  1. Once your browser is open, click the Edit menu and select Empty Cache
  2. Click Empty.

CLEARING CACHE IN AMERICA ONLINE 3.X (WITH EXPLORER 3.X):

  1. Select Members | Preferences from the main menu
  2. Click on the WWW button
  3. Click on Advanced
  4. Click on Purge Cache to clear the cache

TIP: Be sure to check Cache web pages and graphics locally (which should be enabled by default) to speedup surfing.

CLEARING CACHE IN AMERICA ONLINE 4.X:

  1. Select My AOL | Preferences from the main menu
  2. Click on the WWW button
  3. Change to the General tab
  4. Click on Delete Files button

TIP: If you have Explorer 4.x Active Channel subscriptions, check Delete all subscription content to delete cached channel content as well. If you have stored web pages for offline viewing, check Delete all offline content

CLEARING CACHE IN AMERICA ONLINE 9.0:

  1. Select Settings A box appears called Settings: Essentials.
  2. Click on Internet [Web] Options
  3. Click on the General tab
  4. Under Temporary Internet Files, click on the Settings button
  5. Select Every visit to the page on Settings page
  6. Click OK
  7. Return to the General tab, click on Delete Files to clear the cache

 

Apple Mail for MAC OS – Google POP Account

Set up Gmail POP account in Apple Mail

By default, Apple will setup your Gmail account as IMAP when you enter your Gmail address and password. However, if you prefer Gmail as POP, you have to manually setup the account. If you already have the account started as IMAP you must delete this account and create a new account as POP. You cannot change the settings on an IMAP account and make it POP.

1. Open Apple Mail.

1.1. If no email accounts have been configured in Apple Mail, it will start directly with the set-up wizard.

1.2. If there are existing accounts in Apple Mail, you can select Mail -> Add Account… from the menu bar.


2. Select Add Other Mail Account and click Continue… not Google.


3. The Add a Mail Account screen will appear.


In the Full Name field enter the name you would like to appear on the messages you send.

In the Email Address field enter the email address you are configuring.

In the Password field enter the current password for this particular address.

Click the Create button.

 

4. The Incoming Mail Server Info screen will appear.

It will default to IMAP. Select POP

Change imap.gmail.com to pop.gmail.com

Enter full email address and password.

Click Next.

Select Use SSL Port 995; Authentication > Password and click Next.

 

5. The Outgoing Mail Server Info screen will appear.

Set SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com

Enter full email address and password.

Click Create.

Select Use SSL, Port 465; Authentication > Password and click Create.

Verify Settings:

Incoming:  Verify your results in the main account window for outgoing settings. If you make any changes in this window under any of the tabs, you need to click out of the window and select SAVE before the changes are saved.

Outgoing:  Outgoing Mail Server SMTP:  select Edit SMTP Server list

Select account in the list. (It’s not uncommon to find extra SMTP servers listed. When you remove account, Mail does not delete the smtp info. You might need to do some clean up in the list to remove any extras.)

 

Enter name for account Gmail POP under Account information.

Click on Advanced tab. Verify your settings.

Enable POP in Gmail

Enable POP in Gmail:

Set Gmail as POP in your browser settings. Log in to Gmail account. Under the gear, select Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP. Select Enable POP. If you do not want your All Mail folder to download, select the second option “Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on”

 

  • To enable IMAP in Google App for work:
  • Go to http://mail.yourdomain.com (Yourdomaim.com is you actual domain and Your USERNAME is your FULL EMAIL ADDRESS)..
  • Click the gear icon in the upper right, then select settings.

  • Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP

  • Select Enable POP and click save changes
